Into the shadows he shrinks
Eyes cast on enemy as he ponders mortal travesty
Observing from within the darkness
The starlight makes his eyeballs gleam
A skull that’s full of frightful memories
Flicking his tongue as he flirts with ideas of a vengeful ending

He shoots around the group to gain vantage
Counting breaths with every step, they feel his spying eyes
Saliva glistens as it dangles from his jaw
Anticipation as he creeps up from behind

Recurring in his head
The loved ones the man before him rendered dead
His advance pushes them close to the cliff’s edge
The man’s eyes widen as he identifies the creature standing over him

The breeze whispers as a cloud of breath elapses from his nose
Pulsating skin, As the prickling spreads from his head down to his toes
A snarling set of teeth reflect the moonlight
Hoof after hoof, Forcing the quivering man towards the rocky edge

Recurring in his head
The loved ones the man before him rendered dead
His advance pushes them closer to the cliff’s edge
The man’s eyes widen as he identifies the creature standing over him

A shiver shoots down both their spines at once
As the man cries “The Fall Will Kill Us Both!”

The creature slowly steps towards his mortal foe
Pebbles from the edge of the cliff fall to the rocks below
Neither of them blink as the creature closes in
Such a long time scorned, The wrath he kept within
